The most insane band interview I’ve ever seen. It’s both painful and hilarious. (Via Kottke)

Sound Team – The Fastest Man Alive
Here’s a video to a shortened version of ‘The Fastest Man Alive’, by the Austin sextet Sound Team. The full-length track can be found on the group’s debut EP, ‘Work’. While you’re at it, check out ‘Movie Monster’, a very Spoon-ish track off the newly released album ‘Movie Monster’.

The Sleepy Jackson – God Lead Your Soul
Here’s a great new track by The Sleepy Jackson. ‘God Lead Your Soul’ has a really magical/theatrical feel to it, but at the same time it’s kind of simple. Lead singer Luke Steele has been heralded as Australia’s answer to Brian Wilson. I don’t know about all that, but he sings about dragons’ sleep cycles and that’s pretty cool in my book.
Single ‘God Lead Your Soul’ is out now.
Upcoming album ‘Personality’ (including this track) hits stores in July.
Dirty Pretty Things – Waterloo To Anywhere
I’ve been listening to ‘Waterloo To Anywhere’ ever since it came out a few weeks ago. This album has taken up a lot of my listening time, but it makes me wonder – why would anyone even care that The Libertines broke up in the first place? The Libertines was one of the best groups to come around in years. Made up by Carl Barat (the dude you’ll hear in the tracks below) and Pete Doherty, who basically left because he became too much to handle as a kind of waste-of-space cokehead.
I’d say The Libertines self-titled debut album is easily one of the greatest punk/rock albums of all time. The second album is good, but in comparison so-so. Now with Carl’s new project Dirty Pretty Things, along with former Libertines drummer Gary Powell, I can see a lot of cool things coming up for this band. Stay clean ya’ll!

Razorlight – In the Morning
Razorlight’s second album, to be named and released later this year, is way up on the Hans list of most anticipated albums of 06. Thing that’s really cool about Razorlight is that even though it’s bare-bones rock, the songs have a sort of air about them that’s smarter and more creative than most other stuff out there today. The first EP won’t be out till July, but here’s a track off the upcoming album to give you a primer on what it’s all about.
Michael Gray – The Weekend
That’s it for chilled out music week. I’ve been getting literally thousands and hundreds of emails requesting songs and demanding songs, but don’t let that stop you from sending anything my way since I personally have a little small man read all my emails for me. I’ll be back next week with (hopefully) loads of Wolfmother posts. Enjoy your weekend everybuddy!
The Streets – When You Wasn’t Famous
Mike Skinner’s style, to me, seems like an acquired taste, but once you get it The Streets are a lot of fun. And with songs like this in the pack, the clever sounds and lyrics will roll around in your head all day. Which is a good thing if you work construction and your cousin won’t let you bring a radio out cause he’s afraid someone’ll turn it to the country station.
New album ‘Hardest Way to Make an Easy Living’ is out now.
Wolfmother – iTunes Commercial
A quick reprise from chilled out entertainers week. If you haven’t seen it yet you gotta check out the new iTunes commercial featuring Wolfmother’s ‘Lovetrain’. Those iTunes commercials are almost always cool and this one kinda makes me want to get a Mac. If only I was more hip.
Midlake – Young Bride
Midlake is a five-piece from Texas that I just recently discovered and really kinda like. I’m really a big fan of just about any band that has talent along with about a thousand different instruments at their disposal. Instruments which they aren’t afraid to use, sometimes even at the same time.
‘Young Bride’ is a relaxing tune sporting a Chinese violin which really gives it a lot of character, and makes me feel like I should be jumping branch by branch up a tree. To show the diversity of this band I’m also linking a really great song from their first album which has a very Beatles-esque instrumental to it.
Second album ‘The Trials of Van Occupanther’ is scheduled for a June 6 release. Single ‘Young Bride’ is out May 23.

Ed Harcourt – Visit From The Dead Dog
With influence from my brother from another mother, Insane Robot, I’ve decided to post chilled out entertainers this week. Here’s one from Ed Harcourt, who if you’ve never heard before you’ll probably dig if you’re into sounds like Badly Drawn Boy / Rufus Wainwright / The Shins. Cool animation and I really like the chorus in this song.
You can find single ‘Visit From The Dead Dog’ in stores May 23.
Wolfmother – White Unicorn
Here’s another excellent video from Australia’s finest export since Naomi Watts. In this video they’re performing at the Coachella fest, and you can bet your ass those lucky bastards on the front row came home with melted brains. These dudes are so balls out it makes me want to scissor kick three kids off a trampoline.
Radiohead – Live at Koko
Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood played a live show in London last night, and in the mostly acoustic set brought out three new songs. You can download the new ones along with six other familiar tunes in the low-quality, live versions below.
Click here to download ‘Arpeggi’, ‘Body Snatchers’ and ‘Cymbal Rush’. (thanks Terell!)
Do Me Bad Things – The Song Rides
Oh yeah!! Do Me Bad Things is back with a new one. I’ll give you $10 if you can make it through the whole video. Seriously, I’ll wire it to you or something. I’ll use Western Union or Paypal. I don’t know, I’ll let you figure it out. It doesn’t matter cause you won’t last more than a minute.

While you watch this keep in mind that this is a real band and they’re serious about what they’re doing as if it’s something special or normal.
Warning: You will actually become dumber after watching this. I can’t believe I’m posting it.
It’s like you think they’re might be some potential here, seriously. But then after thinking that you want to kick yourself in the face.
Starsailor – Keep Us Together
I’ve always kinda looked at Starsailor like The Verve’s kid brother, but with more slow ballad types. I’m kind of glad I was proven wrong, though, with their last album ‘On the Outside’, which is definitely more of a pump than the previous two albums. Here’s a good example.

Single ‘Keep Us Together’ hits stores May 9.
The Raconteurs – Steady As She Goes
Here’s that new video by The Raconteurs, Jack’s White’s side band. I have to say, his vocals sound cooler in this song than any White Stripes tune I can think of, and it’s refreshing not to see his smug girlfriend/sister/whatever on drums in the background. Really cool sound.
Full length LP ‘Broken Boy Soldiers’ is out now. ‘Steady As She Goes’ single is out on May 9.

Update: Free acoustic version is available at iTunes this week.
