Hi Kara, actually all fluorescents light bulbs have a little bit of mercury in them including the long tube versions that you seen in schools and all over the place. So, yea, it does contain mercury but no more than is usual. While a special clean-up is necessary if you break one, it’s the same you would have with a thermometer.

I always notice that Home Improvement experts push the new eco lightbulbs but yet they fail to warn consumers that these new bulbs contain liquid mercury and if broken pose a significant health risk.

The site looks great!
Looks like it has a ton of text and video on there - must have been quite a task to get it all organized and added.
